Delete your Picania data

This page is for the Picania app for Android (com.picania.app), published by Lampensoft™. Picania has no account and no sign-in, so almost everything it stores is on your phone, where you can delete it yourself. Picania's server keeps a small record only for Picania Plus subscribers.

1. Data on your phone

Your scans, photos, results, sales, shortlists, notes, settings and your Gemini API key are stored only on your phone. To delete them:

1. Scans and results: open Picania → Settings → Stored scans → Clear all. This removes every saved scan and result, including the scans made for a sale.
2. A sale: open the sale → More actions → Delete sale. This removes its photos, its shortlist and the scans it made.
3. Everything at once: uninstall Picania. Android deletes all of the app's data, including your key and settings.
4. Photos taken with Picania's camera are also saved to your gallery under Pictures/Picania. They are ordinary photos: delete them in your gallery app.

Nothing on your phone is kept after you delete it.

2. Data on Picania's server (Picania Plus only)

If you subscribed to Picania Plus, Picania's server keeps one record per subscription: a one-way hash of the Google Play purchase token, the product, this month's AI credit count and in-flight holds, the paid-through date and last check time, a hash of the latest order number, and the random ids and times of its most recent AI calls. It holds no name, e-mail, payment details, photo or scan text.

• Automatic deletion: the record is deleted three months after the last paid period ends.
• Deletion on request: e-mail [email protected] with the order numbers of your Picania Plus payments. They start with GPA. and are in your Google Play order history. Include every plan if you changed plan. The record cannot be linked to you any other way, so without an order number it cannot be found. We delete it within 30 days and reply to confirm.
• Cancel first: if the subscription is still active, the app's next check creates a new record. Cancel in Google Play, then ask once the paid month has ended, or let the automatic deletion take care of it.
• A subscription started with a promo code has no order number and is deleted only automatically.
• Kept elsewhere: Google Cloud's standard request logs for Picania's server (IP address, time, user agent, no scan content) expire with Google Cloud's default retention of 30 days.

3. Data held by Google

Some of what Picania uses belongs to Google, not to Picania, and Picania cannot delete it:

• Your Google Play purchases and subscription records: managed in your Google account and Google Play.
• Requests sent to Gemini with your own API key: kept under Google's Gemini API terms for your key.
• Diagnostics that Google's ML Kit libraries send about themselves: kept under Google's terms.
